Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Katrougalos participates in the Ministerial Meeting of the Berlin Process (Warsaw, 11-12 April 2019)
Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Katrougalos participated in the proceedings of the Ministerial Meeting of the Berlin Process, which was held in Warsaw on Thursday 11 April and Friday 12 April.
All leaders present welcomed the Prespa Agreement as a model for a European paradigm for resolving differences and a factor of stability in the region, while praising Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and his North Macedonia counterpart for their courageous political decision.
During his intervention on bilateral issues in the Balkans, the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented the Greek foreign policy's positive agenda of cooperation and for the strengthening of the European prospects of the region’s countries. He placed particular emphasis on undertaking initiatives, as well as on Greece's methodical approach to resolving the name dispute with North Macedonia, through which definitive resolution of a long-standing difference was achieved, strengthening the overall security and stability of Southeast Europe, while at the same time facilitating joint growth through regional interconnectivity plans with regard to infrastructure and energy.
On the margins of the Meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Igor Crnadak, and of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli.
