2nd UN Ocean Conference

Greece participated in the second UN Ocean Conference co-hosted by the Governments of Kenya and Portugal and held in Lisbon from June 27 till July 1st, 2022.

The Greek delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of the Environment, Mr. G. Amyras, who presented the Greek commitments and accomplishments regarding sustainable ocean management. In the framework of the parallel events of the Conference, the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy, in collaboration with the Mediterranean Action Program of UNEP, presented an event entitled "Tackling the pollution of the marine environment caused by plastics in the Mediterranean".
