Greek Banks Pass Successfully the stress tests performed by ECB on the main Eurozone Banks! The Greek government expressed satisfaction over the results
Prime Minister Antonis Samaras said in a written statement:
"The stress tests of Greek banks exceeded every expectation. We are now exiting the crisis step by step, on strong foundations. This is the only way to create a new Greece which is proud, financially strong and socially just. Nobody must be allowed to interrupt this course."
Government Vice President and Minister for Foreign Affairs Evangelos Venizelos said:
“The positive results of the Europe-wide stress tests on the four Greek systemic banks are yet another step towards the country's safe exit from the memorandum, after the European Central Bank's formal announcement of the results.
The results could signify the clear turning of Greek banks towards supporting the real economy, investments in any sector and in jobs, the implementation of relief measures for non-performing loans and the return of depositors to banks, among others.
Today's positive results "arise from a series of actions taken from 2011 to 2014 that many had been quick to criticise without bothering to see the overall plan that will eventually benefit both the public sector and the national economy," he stressed.”
