Participation of the Embassy of Greece in the 7th Festival for the Mediterranean Diet, held in Tavira, Algarve (Portugal) from 5 to 8 September 2019.

The Embassy of Greece in Lisbon participated in the 7th Festival for the Mediterranean Diet, held in Tavira, Algarve (Southern Portugal) from 5 to 8 September 2019.  The Festival is organized in a yearly basis as part of the celebration for the UNESCO's recognition of Mediterranean Diet as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy was responsible for organizing the Greek stand in which  several Greek tourist destinations were presented. During the event some Greek traditional food products  were also presented.

The Greek stand, which was a kind offer by the Municipality of Tavira, was visited by the Mayor of Tavira Mr. Jorge Manuel Nascimento Botelho and members of the City Council. Many Portuguese and foreign tourists (French, Germans, British etc) visited the Greek stand. The Festival which took place in the central square of Tavira, was successful and drew the attention of the whole population of the wider area.
