Deputy Foreign Minister for International Economic Relations, Dimitris Mardas, met on Monday September 21, 2016, with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Valon Murtezaj, with whom he discussed the scope for broadening bilateral economic cooperation.
The two Deputy Ministers agreed to organise a meeting in Athens so that representatives of construction companies from Kosovo get to know their Greek peers along with various other companies that produce, distribute and market construction materials, so as to assess potential for partnerships and joint ventures for projects, which are expected to materialize in Kosovo through the infrastructure tendering programme that is currently in the pipeline.
Furthermore, it was agreed that delegates of Greek enterprises, active in the field of renewables and pharmaceuticals, make a visit to Pristina.
Lastly, V. Murtezaj, given the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and Kosovo, which recently entered into force, expressed an interest in opportunities for bilateral cooperation. In this framework, the two Deputy Ministers also agreed to investigate scope for transferring agricultural economy "know-how".
