Commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Armistice Agreement in the Korean War - Greece and S.Korea, 13 November 2023

In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Armistice in the Korean War, where Greece and Korea fought side by side for the values of democracy and freedom and in collaboration with the National Assembly, the Embassy of Greece organized an event on Monday 13 November 2023, at 17:30 hrs, at the Sarangjae hanok. The event presented history, music, art and tastes of Greece, in a holistic way. Among the distinguished guests were the Secretary General of the National Assembly of Korea, Mr. Lee Kwangjae and the President of Greece – Korea Friendship Committee, Honorable Mr. Georgios Stamatis, representing the Hellenic Parliament. The Ambassador of Greece in Korea, H.E. Mrs. Ekaterini Loupas, emphasized that Greece’s participation in the Korean War is the cornerstone of the existing excellent bilateral relations. The President of the Association of Hellenic Shipyards and President of ONEX, Mr. Panos Xenokostas, highlighted the longstanding bonds of Greece and Korea in the maritime sector. Political, cultural, academic institutions as well as Corporate Korea were represented at the event. Her Excellency the spouse of the Prime Minister Madam Han Duck-soo honored the event with her presence.
