Greek poetry and music event by the Greek Studies Department of Hankuk University.

On the occasion of the 90th birthday of the great Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, the teachers and students of the Greek Studies Department at Hankuk University organised on Saturday 28 November, in the Event Hall of the Orthodox Church in Seoul an afternoon of Greek music and poetry dedicated to the poetry of Nobel prize Laureate Giorgos Seferis and to his poems set to music by the famous Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. The Korean students of the Department, with the help of their teachers, translated 11 of the best known poems by G. Seferis into Korean and the band of the Department performed the songs by M. Theodorakis. H. E. Ambassador Sourvanos, the staff of the Greek Embassy, Korean authors and artists, as well as members of the Greek community in Seoul attended the event which was sponsored by the Orthodox Church of Korea and the Korean-Greek Friendship Association.
