The Ambassador of Greece to Romania, Lili Evangelia Grammatika, presented her credentials to the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, at a ceremony held on Monday 22 January 2024 at the Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest.
During the meeting, Ambassador Grammatika and President Iohannis referred to the excellent bilateral relations, which are based on long friendship, close cultural and historical ties and close cooperation, including at European, alliance and regional levels.
During the discussion, the interest in strengthening political and diplomatic dialogue, as well as economic and sectoral cooperation, was reaffirmed, while the Greek Ambassador added the opportunities for strengthening regional cooperation and interconnections, expressing our country's gratitude for Romania's support to Greece in becoming a member-state of the Three Seas Initiative, on the occasion of the Summit held in Bucharest on 6 September 2023.
There was also an exchange of views on current security challenges, with a focus on the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East, with both sides agreeing on the need for continued support to both Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
In this context, Ambassador Secretary referred to the opening of the new Embassy of Greece in the Republic of Moldova in the near future.
