Secretary General for Int’l Economic Relations G. Tsipras participates in the Bucharest Forum (Bucharest, 15 October 2015)
The Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General for International Economic
Relations, Giorgos Tsipras, participated as a speaker on Thursday, 15
October, in Bucharest, in the International Bucharest Forum, which was
hosted by the Aspen Institute.
More specifically, Mr. G. Tsipras
took part in the panel discussion on “Energy Union, Competing Regional
Energy Priorities Converging Needs: What Future for the European Energy
Security Strategy?”, together with European Commission Vice President
and Energy Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič, Romanian Energy Minister Andrea
Cerea, and the Romanian government’s Ambassador at Large for Energy
Security, Mihnea Constantinescu.
In his remarks, Mr. G. Tsipras
stressed the need for diversification of energy sources and pipeline
routes, while he noted that the Greek government, within the framework
of the European Energy Union, is working with countries in the region,
as well as with the other involved parties, to ensure the promotion of
major energy plans such as the TAP, the Vertical Corridor, the New
European Pipeline and the interconnector pipelines.
