High-level seminar on Geographical Indications in Singapore (16/7/2019)
The high-level seminar on European Union member-states’ Geographical Indications took place on 16/7 in Singapore. The seminar, organized by the European Union Delegation and the Embassies of EU Member-states, aimed at informing the public and the relevant institutions of Singapore on the importance of the protection of Geographical Indications.
Speeches were given by the President of the Federation of Hellenic Food Industries Mr Apostolopoulos on the uniqueness of the Geographical Indication Feta, and by Ms Dokou from the Katsaros distillery (region of Tirnavos), who presented the Geographical Indication Ouzo. Greece participated with the following Geographical Indications : ouzo (Plomari, Apalarina, Katsaros), Kalamata olive (Arkadia, Lelia), Retsina of Megara, Visanto, Masticha Chiou (resin, liqueur), feta (Minerva) and Limnos wine.
