Bilateral meeting between the Speakers of the Hellenic Parliament and the Slovak National Council (Bratislava, 24 April 2017)

A bilateral meeting between the President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Nikolaos Voutsis and the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Mr. Andrej Danko took place in Bratislava on Monday, 24 April 2017. This is the first meeting between the Presidents of the two Parliaments, which takes place in Slovakia.

The two Presidents discussed various topics of bilateral relations, underlining the possibility of upgrading the tourist flow of Slovak citizens to Greece and the fact that the 770 Greek students that study in the Slovak Universities have become a bridge of culture and innovation among the two countries. Furthermore, the two Speakers exchanged views on the question of migration, the debt crisis in Europe and its repercussions over the relations of European peoples as well as ways of tackling phenomena of corruption in public life.

A friendly atmosphere prevailed during the talks, reflecting the excellent relations of the two countries.
