Modification of the validity of Greek passports issued as of 1st September 2022

The Embassy of Greece in Ljubljana informs the public that in accordance with Law 4962/Government Gazette 148 cl. A' /28.07.2022, the validity of ordinary Greek passports issued as of 1st September 2022 is increased from five years (as is currently the case for adults) to ten years for all Greek citizens who have reached the age of 14.

For minors under the age of 14, passports will have a validity of three years. This regulation also applies to passports that will be issued as of 1st September 2022.

The fee, supporting documents and the rest of the process remain the same.

For passports that will be issued until 31st August 2022 (based on current or pending applications), the validity period remains the same as it was until now.
