Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
This year, 200 years after the Declaration of Independence in 1821, which is a key historical event for Greece, The National Day of Greece will be celebrated digitally, due to the current epidemiological situation and to COVID-19 restrictions concerning public gatherings in Slovenia. On March 25, 2021 in the evening, the building Filipov dvorec in Ljubljana city centre will be illuminated with the Greek flag. In addition, various messages and culturally significant materials, related to this important moment in the history of Greece, as well as to Slovenia, will be published on the Embassy’s website.
On this occasion, we would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone for their valuable cooperation and support. We thank the Mayor of Ljubljana and particularly the Mytilineos SA-Branch Office in Ljubljana, who have sponsored the illumination of the building Filipov dvorec. Thanks for their contributions also go to Professor Jerneja Kavčič and to her students Mrs. Eva Avguštin, Mrs. Marija Gardina, Mr. Matic Kristan, Mrs. Sara Križaj, Mr. Rok Kuntner, and Mr. Kajetan Škraban, all from the Department of Classics at the University of Ljubljana.
