The Consul General
Mr. Konstantinos Chatzithomas assumed his duties as Consul General of Greece in Johannesburg in February 2022.
He is a career diplomat of the Greek Foreign Service and has previously worked at the Embassies in Beirut, Lebanon and Damascus, Syria, as well as at the Permanent Delegation of Greece to NATO in Brussels, Belgium.
While at the Foreign Ministry HQ in Athens, Mr. Chatzithomas has served as Deputy Head of the Secretary General's Office, Deputy Head of the Political Director's Office and as an Officer for the Western Balkans at the Directorate for the External Relations of the European Union.
Mr. Chatzithomas has studied Political Science and International Affairs at the Panteion University of Athens and holds postgraduate degrees in Management (Université Libre de Bruxelles), European Politics (London School of Economics) and Development (Athens Institute of International Relations). He is an alumnus of the Lycée Franco-Hellénique d'Athènes.
He is fluent in English, French and Spanish and he can communicate in Arabic.
