Travelling to Greece

From February 2022, Greece has lifted COVID-related travel bans and restarted accepting applications for all types of visas. Please visit the official portal of the Greek government, which is continuously updated with the latest information about travelling to Greece, here: https://travel.gov.gr.

From March 15th, 2022, the requirement for all travellers to complete their Passenger Locator Form (PLF) before entering the country has been lifted. It is still recommended that visitors download the Visit Greece app (GDPR compliant) before their arrival in Greece. The app can be downloaded for free through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Visa application process

Visa applications are submitted and processed through the Visa Application Centres in Johannesburg and Durban. Final assessment is concluded by the Consulate General in Johannesburg.

Please note that the Visa fee is not refundable in any case and that the submission of a Visa application does not automatically mean that the Visa will be granted, as additional restrictions apply.

You may visit the portal of the Global Visa Centre to book an appointment and find a list of the required documents per type of Visa here: https://za-gr.gvcworld.eu/en.
