Registration of vaccinations completed abroad

Greece recognises the Certificates of Vaccination conducted with the following vaccines: Pfizer/BioNtech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson&Johnson, Sinovac/Coronavac, Gamaleya (Sputnik), Sinopharm, Cansino Biologics και Covishield (Joint Ministerial Decree No 5570/2021).

The vaccination of Greek citizens born before December 31st, 1961 is now compulsory. As of January 19th, 2022, a monthly fine is imposed to all Greek citizens over the age of 60 , who have not arranged their vaccination. Greek citizens who are registered with the tax service for residents abroad (“ΔΟΥ Κατοίκων Εξωτερικού) are automatically exempted.

Therofore, If you are over 60 years old, registered with any other tax authority in Greece and residing in South Africa, you will need to register your vaccination , in order to avoid the aforementioned fine.

You will need to login using your “Taxisnet” credentials, fill in your Social Security Number (“AMKA”) and upload your South African vaccination certificate.

If you do not have a Greek Social Security Number (“AMKA”), or you cannot register your vaccination for any other reason using this procedure, you may schedule an appointment for a teleconference with an official, through the “MyKeplive” platform (Taxisnet credentials needed in this case too). Please note that registering your foreign vaccination with the Greek authorities is solely used to exempt you from the aforementioned fine and does not give you the right to a Greek vaccination certificate.
