The Consul

Mr Sotirios Demestihas is a graduate of the University of Athens Law School, Faculty of Law. Ηe completed a 12 months military service with the Artillery.

A career diplomat of the Greek Foreign Service, he has worked with the Embassies in Sarajevo (2009-2014, Deputy Head of Mission), London (2014-2017, Head of Consular Section) and Nairobi (2018-2021, Deputy Head of Mission).

While at the Foreign Ministry HQ in Athens, he served with the Diplomatic Protocol, as well as the Directorate for the Council of Europe (CoE) and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

He assumed his duties as Consul of Greece in Cape Town in August 2021, with areas of jurisdiction the Western Cape, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa.
