June 6, 2013 Launch of biometrics capturing - VIS

The Consulate General of Greece in Johannesburg, in its effort to best accommodate all prospective travelers to Greece and improve its visa services, has the pleasure to announce that it has entered into an agreement with VFS Visa Processing South Africa Pty Ltd. for the imminent opening (within June 2013) of Greek Visa Application Centers in Johannesburg and in Durban.

The new Greek Visa Application Centers in Johannesburg and in Durban will accept visa applications for longer hours every weekday (except public holidays), by appointment to avoid queues. Once processed by the Consulate General of Greece in Johannesburg, passports will also be collected through the Greek Visa Application Centers.

Please note that all visa applications lodged at the Greek Visa Application Centers in Johannesburg and in Durban will be forwarded the same day to the Consulate General of Greece in Johannesburg for approval and if everything is in order for issuing the visas. If deemed necessary, applicants may still be asked to appear for a personal interview at the Consulate General of Greece in Johannesburg.
