Announcement regarding the simplification of procedure for the official translation of documents

As of today, September 1, 2021, a simplified procedure for the official translation of documents has been put into effect.

The new translation system eliminates the decades-old bureaucratic procedure and replaces it with a new simplified digital system. (https://metafraseis.services.gov.gr).

This procedure is part of the administrative reform actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and constitutes an implementation of the modernization of its organizational structure (Law 4781/2021).

Specifically, two new services are now provided through the Single Digital Portal gov.gr:

a. Searching for a certified translator (for citizens and businesses)

b. Entering translation particulars (for certified translators).

Citizens and public services shall now be able to select the translator of their choice from the Electronic Register of Certified Translators and contact them directly.
