Event “Nikos Kazantzakis: A world traveler” at UN Headquarters

The event "Nikos Kazantzakis: A World Traveler," organized by the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations, with the participation of members of the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis and prominent scholars of his work, took place on October 24,2024 at the United Nations Headquarters.

Welcoming the speakers and representatives of the diplomatic community of the UN member states, the Permanent Representative of Greece to the UN, Ambassador Sekeris, underlined the auspicious timing of the event on United Nations Day and referred to the influence that the great Greek writer's interaction with peoples and cultures had on his literary work. He noted that his work was inspired by the values of peace, solidarity and respect for human rights.

In their interventions, the speakers of the event reviewed the rich literary work and characteristic moments of Nikos Kazantzakis' travels, which inspired his literary creation.
