Minister of Foreign Affairs, N. Kotzias, meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, M. A. Holguín Cuéllar (New York, 20.09.2017)

On the margins of the High-Level Week of the 72nd UN General Assembly, in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Kotzias, met on Wednesday 20 September with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar.

During the meeting, which took place in a warm atmosphere, they examined ways to bolster trade and strengthen bilateral cooperation, through consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs on issues of mutual interest, including educational/cultural cooperation. Special reference was made to issues of e-governance, with the two sides agreeing in the exchange of relevant expertise and best practices.

The Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed Mr. Kotzias on the positive prospects arising from the signing and implementation of the peace agreement between the government and the FARC.

At the invitation of the Minster of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Holguín will be visiting Athens in December 2017. The Colombian Minister extended a reciprocal invitation for Mr. Kotzias to visit Colombia in 2018.
