Preventive measures against Zika virus

Travelers visiting Venezuela are recommended to take constant measures to avoid mosquito bites, as the mosquito that carries the Zika virus bites throughout the day and night, indoors and outdoors, as well as in urban areas.

It is recommended in particular for pregnant women, infants, the elderly and persons with chronic conditions or immunosuppression that the risk of the Ziko virus be considered before travel to Venezuela and that increased protection against mosquito bites be used while in the country.
