Greek Parliamentary Delegation’s Visit in Belgrade – Inaugural Event of Twinning Project
A delegation of the Hellenic Parliament, headed by MP Akis Gerontopoulos, Vice President of the Parliamentary Committee of European Affairs, and MP Efthimios Karanasios, President of the Greek-Serbian Friendship Parliamentary group, will visit Belgrade on 13-14 February 2013, on the occasion of the inaugural event of the EU Twinning Project “Strenghtening Capacities of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia”.
The event will take place at the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia (small plenary room) on 13th February 2013 at 01:00pm.
The purpose of the Twinning Project, which is funded by the EU, is to increase efficiency, liability and transparency in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. Furthermore, its main objective it to strengthen the representative role of the National Assembly, its legislative and oversight function.
The Twinning Project will be jointly implemented by the Hellenic Parliament and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia from January 2013 till June 2014, throught the assistance provided by experts from Greece, Slovakia and Belgium.
In the framework of its visit to Belgrade, the Greek Parliamentary Delegation will have a meeting with members of the European Integration Committee of the National Assembly of Serbia. A meeting of the Presidents of the respective Parliamentary Groups of Friendship between Greece-Serbia will also be held.
