Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis meets with the Ambassador of Spain, Enrique Viguera Rubio (Athens, 29 July 2019)

Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis today received the Ambassador of Spain, Enrique Viguera Rubio, in a courtesy visit occasioned by the taking up of his new duties.

During the meeting, there was a discussion of issues of bilateral and European interest. With regard to European issues, they reaffirmed the two countries’ shared positions and underscored the need for closer cooperation and coordination.

Special emphasis was put on the migration issue, regarding which the Alternate Minister stressed the need to promote cooperation on readmission with third countries.
