Days of Greek Cinema, Stockholm (12-27.10.2019)
The “Days of Greek Cinema” which were co-organised by the Swedish Institute at Athens, the Greek Film Center, the Greek School in Stockholm and the Greek Cultural Foundation under the auspices of the Embassy of Greece in Stockholm, were warmly welcomed by the Stockholm public.
It was the first effort to establish a Greek Film Festival on a yearly basis in Stockholm with the aim to familiarise the Swedish audience with the contemporary Greek Film productions.
The following films were screened:
-3 feature films: “Her Job” by Nikos Labôt, “The Waiter” by Steve Krikris “Smuggling Hendrix” by Marios Piperides
-3 short films: “37 Days” by Nikoleta Leousi, “Patision Avenue” by Thanasis Theofotistos and “The Silence of the Dying Fish” by Vasilis Kekatos.
The inauguration of the festival took place at the Greek Cultural Foundation where the cinema historian and filmmaker Mrs Rea Wallden made a very interesting presentation on the evolution of Greek Cinema throughout the years.
