Inaugural Concert “Many Voices, Common Journey”, organized by the Embassy of Greece in Stockholm, on the occasion of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Oscarskyrka, January 30th 2014

The concert featured the internationally acclaimed soloist Arja Saijonmaa, Mezzo-soprano Katerina Roussou and the Greek choir ”Orpheas” conducted by Rolando Pomo. The artists performed works of contemporary music by the celebrated Greek composers Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis and other renowned composers. Songs were based on poems of Nobel Prize Laureates in Literature Giorgos Seferis, Odysseus Elytis and other contemporary Greek poets.

The concert took place in front of an audience of over 1000 persons, with the presence of the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament Mr. Per Westerberg, Stockholm Diplomatic Corps, dignitaries from of the Swedish Government Offices, international organizations and cultural institutions as well as members of the Greek diaspora in Stockholm.
