The Embassy of Greece in Stockholm participated in the European Day of Languages, 24 September 2019

The Greek Embassy participated in the annual celebration of the European Day of Languages, on September 24, 2019 on  the premises of the European Commission Representation in Sweden, along with other Embassies, European Institutes for Culture and Languages and Swedish education authorities.

Almost 600 pupils of Swedish primary and secondary schools had the opportunity to visit the area where the presentation of the Greek language was held, to test their knowledge in a language quiz, get acquainted with key elements of the Greek language like its alphabet and to grasp the Greek root of a  great part of the vocabulary of other  European languages.

The European Day of Languages is organized in 47 countries by the Council of Europe and the European Union, to celebrate linguistic diversity as a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding and to promote plurilingualism in the whole of Europe.
