Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement upon arrival at the EU-Egypt Association Council (Luxembourg, 19.06.2022)

"The EU-Egypt Association Council is convening today, Sunday, here in Luxembourg. Greece’s view is that Egypt is a country of paramount importance for Europe. It is a partner and friend of the EU, with which our relations should be developed. We should support Egypt in its efforts to address the major economic crisis. We should also assist Egypt in its ongoing efforts to address issues of human rights and women's rights in the Egyptian society. I believe this is a huge opportunity for the Union, which should not be missed in any way”.
