Information for travelers to Greece – update 15 June 2020
A. From the 15th until the 30th of June
Flight connections
Greece is lifting restrictions on flight connections from Switzerland to Athens International Airport and Thessaloniki Airport.
If you originate from an EU + airport on the EASA affected area list or from Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Albania and North Macedonia, then you will be tested upon arrival.
Ferry connections
There are no ferry connections between Greece and other international ports (incl. between Greece and Italy) until further notice.
Land border arrivals
Land borders are closed between Greece and Turkey, Albania and North Macedonia (excl. essential professional reasons) goods transportation services. until further notice.
B. From the 1st of July
International flights (incl. flights from Switzerland) will be allowed to all airports in Greece.
Ferry connections
As of 1 July arrivals by sea will be allowed (incl. between Greece and Italy).
Land border arrivals
Land border arrivals from Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria are allowed. Re-evaluation with regards to Turkey by 30 June.
Testing (concerning both periods A. From the 15th until the 30th of June and B. From the 1st of July )
- Visitors from Switzerland may be submitted to random testing upon arrival.
o It is highly recommended for the visitor to stay in quarantine for one day at the hotel of his/her preference until the result.
- In case a visitor is tested negative, he/she can continue his vacation.
In case a visitor is tested positive, he/she is quarantined under supervision for 14 days.
- Non - Swiss residents holders of B or C residence permit can travel to Greece with both their passport and their residence. Both documents must be valid at least 3 months after the return date from Greece.
Greece at any stage retains the right to modify any of the above in light of changing circumstances.
