The Embassy of Greece in Switzerland celebrated its 100th anniversary with a concert by the Greek choir ROSARTE
On October 26, 2017, on the occasion of the 100-year anniversary of the Embassy of Greece in Switzerland, a concert of the Greek choir ROSARTE CHOIR ATHENS was given at the Yehudi Menuhin Forum in Bern, within the framework of the CULTURESCAPES 2017 Festival, this year dedicated to Greece.
Mrs. Semya Ayoubi, Deputy Secretary General of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, and Mrs. Hara Skorarikou, Ambassador of Greece to Switzerland, both stressed in their speeches the strong historical, political and cultural ties between the two countries, while the event was opened by the director of the Festival, Mr. Jurriaan Cooiman. High-ranking staff of the Swiss Foreign Ministry and the Diplomatic Corps, Presidents and representatives of all the Greek and Philhellenic organizations, and lots of Swiss and Greek friends were also there.
The Greek children's choir ROSARTE has been honoured by the Academy of Athens and has excelled in several music festivals worldwide. The program of the concert included mainly songs by Greek composers Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hatzidakis.
