Exhibition at the Sismanoglio Megaro: "HUMAN-LESS"
The Consulate General of Greece in Istanbul will host the "HUMAN-LESS " exhibition in Sismanoglio Megaro from January 22 to February 22, 2016.
The photography artist Cengiz Akduman, who is known for his photographs presenting life and people, now comes to the art scene with photographs with no traces of human subjects. Akduman talks about this new collection as follows:
“This exhibition consists of photography where there is no pair of eyes, or a human face looking at the spectator in a judgmental way. I tried to come up with a collection, which does not contain any human being physically, yet it carries all the traces of human existence.”
The artist gives some hints about the upcoming projects as follows:
“Did the disappointments that I have gone through recently have caused this exhibition to be HUMAN-LESS? Even if it did, from now on, I will keep documenting human life through photographs of people. Because my passion and love for people will never end. If the passion ends, then life will also end…”
Additionally, there will also be short poems specifically written for each photograph by one of the most acknowledged female poets, Yelda Karataş.
