Lost or stolen passport - I.D.

In case of loss or theft of Greek passport or ID card, one needs also to proceed in reporting the loss/theft to the closest Consular authority, without appointment, in order for the Greek Police authorities to be informed as soon as possible and invalidate the document for security reasons. If no other proof of ID (passport, ID card or Greek driving licence) is provided, a Greek witness needs to be present (bearing passport, ID card or Greek driving licence) , for reasons of identification. In case of loss or theft of your passport you must report the incident, as soon as possible, to a UK police authority obtaining confirmation of the report (e.g. crime reference number).

The Consular authority conducts an investigation concerning the circumstances of loss or theft of the passport. For this reason, a new passport application can be submitted only after at least 45 days have passed. In case that the passport is lost/stolen twice, the submission of new application is possible only after at least 6 months have passed since the declaration.
