Online declaration of loss of Greek passport or ID card Greek citizens are now able to declare online the loss of their Greek ID card or passport, provided that the citizen holds a TaxisNet or web banking account. Alternatively, they candeclare the loss at their closest Greek Consular Authority. Attention: In accordance with the Community Code on Visas short term visitors to Greece (and to the Schengen area in general) must be in possession of a valid travel document. The Travel document’s validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from Greece (or the Schengen area in general), and it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years Attention: ETA authorisation will be needed for entry of Greek citizens in the UK from 2 April 2025

Supporting documents for 11 years continuous and permanent residence abroad

- Application by the conscript to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Greece in London.

- Passport or Police Identity Card, applicant’s Certificate of registration in the Municipal Register indicating his registration in the Males Register.

- Relevant conscription documents relating to the conscript (conscription notice, postponement etc)

- Certificates from primary and secondary educational institutions (nursery, primary school, high school, lyceum) until adulthood. From adulthood onwards certificates, titles of studies and transcripts (colleges, universities etc) are required.

- Tax information (employment history from HMRC together with P60 or payslips) for the same period.

- Detailed monthly bank account statements (per quarter per year). The bank statements should indicate everyday expenses (e.g. supermarket, TFL ticket etc) that prove living in the U.K. For your convenience you may provide bank statements as follows: one month per quarter per year (e.g. January,April,July,October for every year) and the most recent month to the appointment.
It is noted that the financial details aren't needed for the process and they may be erased / covered

- Local authority statements (council tax) or utility bills (electricity, gas, water). If these are included under a rental contract its submission will be necessary.

- If the person concerned is the owner of a company or self-employed the required supporting documents are defined as: articles of association, self assessment tax returns, invoices, payslips, accountant’s letter in relation to the period of activity. All the above together.

It should be noted that for the period when the conscript was a minor, supporting documents for both parents must be provided if parental responsibility and custody were jointly exercised. If they were exercised by one parent, it will also be necessary to submit the relevant court decision. In this case, in addition to school certificates, the above supporting documents relating to the parents must also be submitted.

The documents are examined as a whole. In case eventual missing documents are not covered by other documents proving the applicants' residence or occupation for the whole time period, more documents will be requested.

Copies of all supporting documents are kept on file together with the conscript’s application. If you would like your originals to be returned to you then you must also provide us with copies of them.
