Announcement
Following a Joint Ministerial Decree and in the context of measures taken to limit the spread of COVID-19, the suspension of direct passenger flights between Greece and the United Kingdom is extended until June 30 2020. It is noted that, as of 15 June, travelers are submitted to COVID19 random tests upon their arrival in Greece. Those tested are obliged to remain in self-isolation for 24 hours until the announcement of the result. If the test is positive, then the travelers will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.
At the same time, the ban on entry to third-country nationals, except for European Union countries (including the UK) and the Schengen Agreement, is also extended to 30 June.
In this context, the Embassy reminds Greek citizens and citizens of EU and Schngen countries, who wish to travel to Greece, that there are alternative routes through transit destinations. In this case, they must confirm with their airline that the full itinerary of their flight will be serviced (United Kingdom - country of transit passage - Greece).
