Online declaration of loss of Greek passport or ID card Greek citizens are now able to declare online the loss of their Greek ID card or passport, provided that the citizen holds a TaxisNet or web banking account. Alternatively, they candeclare the loss at their closest Greek Consular Authority. Attention: In accordance with the Community Code on Visas short term visitors to Greece (and to the Schengen area in general) must be in possession of a valid travel document. The Travel document’s validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from Greece (or the Schengen area in general), and it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years Attention: ETA authorisation will be needed for entry of Greek citizens in the UK from 2 April 2025

First ever visit of the Precious and Life-giving Cross to the United Kingdom.

Following a request of the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain and of the Russian Orthodox Church in Britain, His Beatitude the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos, and the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, have agreed for the first ever visit of the Precious and Life-giving Cross to the United Kingdom.
The Holy relic arrived in the UK on Saturday, November 28th 2013, where it was displayed for worship first at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of All Saints in Camden Town, London. During its two week stay in Britain the Precious and Life-giving Cross was displayed at Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches in various boroughs of London, in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Oxford. During this time not only Orthodox but also members of other Christian denominations visited Orthodox churches in order to participate in this great event. 
The Greek Ambassador Mr. Konstantinos Bikas, accompanied by the Defence Attaché Captain (HN) Apostolos Trivlidis, the officers of the Defence Attaché’s Office as well as Greek officers serving at NATO’s HQ Maritime Command (MARCOM) in Northwood, London, participated at the Matins and Mass at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, Shepherds Bush, London on St. Nicholas’ Day (December 6th, 2013) where the Precious and Life-giving Cross was displayed. The holy relic departs for the Holy Land on Friday, December 13th, 2013.
