Lloyd’s List Global Awards: the Greek Shipping Company COSTAMARE wins the company of the year award.

On September 30th, 2014, the annual Lloyd’s List Global Awards ceremony was held in London to celebrate the shipping industry’s success stories. Over 500 shipping professionals from across the world gathered in Lancaster Hotel. Richard Meade, Editor, Lloyd’s List said on the occasion «We see these awards as a reminder of the importance of this industry to both commerce and social good. At Lloyd’s List, we also see it as an annual chance to thank you, the upholders of the best in the industry, for your contribution» A Greek company, COSTAMARE was awarded the award for Company of the Year. As Lloyd’s List suggests, « it has enjoyed one of the most dynamic and successful periods in its 40 years history over the past 12 months. Amid generally poor container market conditions this is a company that has delivered positive results while expanding and renewing its fleet. Our judges were impressed by quality of operations and the well judged execution of a solid strategy that has left COSTAMARE in an enviable position in the market». On behalf of COSTAMARE the award received Mr. Achilles V. Constantakopoulos. The Greek Embassy was represented in the event by the Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Nicolaos Argyros.
