Piccadily Circus welcomes Up Greek Tourism

London, January 28th 2013: First stop was New York, second Washington and now London! Up Greek Tourism’s billboard in a journey around the world, will be arriving at Piccadilly Circus on 31 of January, following the successful completion of the first phase of the campaign. The target amount of £12,000, needed to rent the advertising space for two weeks was achieved via the popular method of crowdfunding and the use of the online platform www.loudsauce.com.

For a third time, citizens around the world, made this campaign possible with their generous contributions. UP Greek Tourism can now realise their goal of displaying Greece’s beauty on a billboard in one of the world’s most visited places, offering essential exposure for Greece abroad.

Katerina Spetsiou, Project manager for the London campaign said: “We are delighted we were able to successfully complete another UP Greek Tourism fund raising campaign. We understand that these are financially difficult times and we greatly appreciate people’s contributions, but most of all we feel touched by their love for Greece. Thanks to everyone’s generosity we can contribute to our country’s economy by helping boost tourism at a time when it’s most needed.”

The creative for the billboard will once again be designed by Charis Tsevis, an award-winning graphic designer and will invite tourists to choose Greece as their holiday destination. The billboard will be on display on one of Piccadilly Circus’ famous billboards for two weeks, starting January 31st. Members of the UP Greek Tourism team will be present at the launch of the billboard, while an open invitation is extended to all journalists and media networks around the world to visit Piccadilly Circus, take photos of the billboard, and encourage people to travel to Greece this summer.
