PM chairs meeting on 'rebranding' Greece
Ways of "rebranding" Greece in order
to improve and promote its image abroad were the focus on a meeting on
Wednesday between Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Tourism Minister Olga
Kefalogianni and Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramo-poulos at the premier's
offices, sources said.
Kefalogianni has already made plans for such a rebranding campaign, while the foreign ministry is expected to play a key role in this effort on both a central level and through its various services and human resources. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Notis Mitarakis, who is to take charge of the issue at the foreign ministry.
The prime
minister's interest in the project is especially keen, sources added, given
that he has begun an effort to change the country's image and constantly
stresses the need for credibility abroad.
