Online declaration of loss of Greek passport or ID card Greek citizens are now able to declare online the loss of their Greek ID card or passport, provided that the citizen holds a TaxisNet or web banking account. Alternatively, they candeclare the loss at their closest Greek Consular Authority. Attention: In accordance with the Community Code on Visas short term visitors to Greece (and to the Schengen area in general) must be in possession of a valid travel document. The Travel document’s validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from Greece (or the Schengen area in general), and it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years Attention: ETA authorisation will be needed for entry of Greek citizens in the UK from 2 April 2025

PM Samaras gives orders on course of reforms

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Tuesday gave clear orders to his ministers to accelerate the reforms and to respect the timetables regarding the mobility scheme in public sector.

The Administration Reforms government's council meeting in the presence of Government Vice President Evangelos Venizelos, Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras, Interior Minister Yannis Michelakis, Administration Reforms Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Education Minister Costas Arvanitopoulos, Development Minister Costis Hatzidakis and Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis examined the implementation course of the government's commitments towards our lenders in order delays to be prevented.

In a statement, Mitsotakis noted that directions on the acceleration of the government's reforms project were given, regarding the quantity and quality data.

On his part, Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras stated that the deadlines will be respected without any problems.

According to information in the meeting was decided that no further cutbacks across the board to be applied while the possibility of a series of changes in ministries and particularly in the Education Ministry was also touched.
