PM Samaras Opens Exhibition at National Archaeological Museum

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras inaugurated the exhibition "Prosfora" ("Contribution") at the National Archaeological Museum, on October 13. The exhibition is an initiative of the non-profit organisation Alliance for Greece and includes 60 works from 57 modern Greek artists, mainly paintings and sculptures. Addressing the event, Samaras noted that, it is really praiseworthy that in these hard times, people, either with their art or with their economic contribution, join forces to support the National Archeological Museum.

"I would say indeed that the participation of all of you in this effort constitutes the catharsis of a tragedy:

That of our state's temporary inability to offer what it used to in the past, through our civilization," the premier said. At the closing of the exhibition, in two months time, the works will be auctioned and the largest part of the proceeds will be donated to the Museum.
