Mediterranean Film Nights in Boston, August 29th and 30th!
The Greek General Consulate in Boston is delighted to invite you to an end of summer open-air film festival on Thursday, August 19th and Friday, August 30th at the Boston waterfront (Christopher Columbus Park). This two night event hosted in conjunction with the Italian Consulate General and the French Cultural Center in Boston will feature two films for all ages.
Academy Awards Best Foreign Movie Winner "Cinema Paradiso" will begin at 8PM on Thursday August 29th. This post WWII Italian drama set in the Sicilian Town of Giancardo is a coming of age film about a young boyas he discovers his passion for film.
The second night of this even will feature "Nicostratos the Pelican", a French production filmed in the wonderful islands of Sifnos and Milos. This movie follows the life of a 14 year old boy who is in the process of recovering from his mother's death when he rescues an unlikely friend, a pelican. Nicostratos the Pelican contains many aspects of Greek culture in both its setting in the Greek islands, while also featuring Greek characters.
Guests are invited to attend for free one or both of the films that will be shown during the two day festival.
