1.    Terms of use of the present website
The terms of use are addressed to every person who accesses any page of the website. Any terms, conditions, disclaimers or other legal observations on any page of the present website shall be considered as included in the content of the present text. Limits on Use
The present website belongs to the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs (hereinafter referred to as MFA). Users may not download, reproduce, distribute, disseminate, share, sell, publish or circulate material from this website in any way, except for personal, non-profit use, and only as long as they do not infringe on the intellectual property rights protecting said material.

The graphics and images appearing on this website are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced in any way without the written consent of the MFA. Alteration of material or use of material for other purposes may result in criminal prosecution.

2.    Protection of Personal Data
The management and protection of the personal data of the visitor to/user of the services of the Hellenic Consulate General in New York, which belongs to the MFA, comes under the terms of the present section as well as under the relevant provisions of Hellenic law (Law 2472/1997 on the protection of the individual through the protection of data of a personal nature, as supplemented and amended by the decisions of the President of the Committee on Protection of Personal Data, Presidential Decrees 207/1998 and 79/2000, article 8 of Law 2819/2000, and Law 3471/2006) and European law (Directives 95/46/EC and 97/66/EC).

The use of e-governance services requires the collection and processing of various types of data, such as personal data, the protection, processing and non-disclosure of which is a fundamental regulatory requirement, in accordance with the more specific conditions and guarantees of the relevant legislation (Law 2472/97), which must be observed by the e-governance services. The Hellenic Consulate General in New York processes the personal data of natural persons (“Subjects”) who are registered users of the e-services portal.

User Registration
For a visitor to register as a user, the following information is required: User’s full name, email, cellphone number. By his/her own consent, the user may provide additional, optional information, such as landline telephone number or fax number. The above information – non-sensitive personal data – is kept in the Consulate General’s data base.

Appointments
To make an appointment via the website, the above information needs to be processed. The Consulate General collects the minimum personal data required for this purpose; that is, for providing this specific service. Moreover, only the data essential and appropriate for this purpose are collected, and these data are not used for purposes incompatible with those for which they have been collected. The company providing the appointment-making software follows the European Union Directive on protection of data.

Cookies
Our cookies are small text files that are stored on the hard disc of every visitor/user and do not access or perceive any document or file in the visitor’s/user’s computer. They are used to recognize the user or the user’s specific actions during previous visits to the website.

Links to other sites
The MFA portal includes links to other websites that are not controlled by the MFA itself, but by third parties (natural or legal persons). In no case is the MFA portal responsible for the Terms of Protection of Personal Data followed by these third-party websites.

IP Addresses

The IP address through which a computer has access to the Internet and, subsequently, to the Web is used exclusively to collect statistical data.
