Οn October 26,  an event commemorating the anniversary of October 28, 1940, was held with great pomp and emotion, at the Consulate General of Greece in New York, with the participation of students from Greek-Αmerican schools who recited poems and danced traditional dances.

An "OXI" so important that, together with the fighting spirit of the Greeks, changed the course of history and the outcome of the Second World War. It was not by chance that Winston Churchill's quote "Heroes fight like Greeks". It was a way to emphasize the heroism and self-sacrifice of the Greeks, Mr. Constantinou stressed, adding that the "OXI" of 1940, constitutes an epic that transcends the narrow boundaries of Hellenism and has a universal character.
