Inauguration of a series of lectures "Greeks Thinking about Today's World"

The Consulate General of Greece in New York in cooperation with the Program in Hellenic Studies of Columbia University on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, inaugurated a series of lectures entitled "Greeks thinking about Today's World".

The keynote speaker at the first lecture on the topic of “Diaspora and Nostos” was an Academy of Athens Award Winner (2014), Mr Yiorgos Chouliaras, President of the Hellenic Authors Society. The opening remarks were made by the Consul General of Greece in New York, Dr Konstantinos Koutras and Mr Stathis Gourgouris, Professor of Comparative Literature at Columbia University introduced the keynote speaker to the audience. His Eminence Archbishop Dimitrios, Geron of America attended the Conference and made the concluding remarks by addressing, among others, the cultural thesaurus of the Greek language.

Representatives of the academic society, the Greek American community attended the event.
