Inauguration of the drawing exhibition of Prof. Katherine A. Schwab

On Wednesday, January 15th, 2014, the exhibition “An Archaeologist’s Eye: The Parthenon Drawings of Katherine A. Schwab” was inaugurated at the Consulate General of Greece in the presence of numerous guests, including, academics, business people, journalists and artists.
The Consul General Mr. Georgios Iliopoulos and the President of Fairfield University, The Reverend Jeffrey P. Von Arx S.J. offered brief remarks and introduced the artist, Prof. K. Schwab who presented her work.
The thirty-five (35) drawings on display depict details of the north and east Parthenon metopes and are characterized by their precision and vivacity.   
The drawing exhibition, whose gray-scale scans, are on permanent display in the Acropolis Museum in Athens, will remain open to the public until February 13th, 2014. Admission is free.
