Opening of the photographic exhibition , for the celebration of the OXI Day, 18.10.2017
The celebration for the OXI Day took place at the Consulate General of Greece in New York with the opening of the photographic exhibition "Faces of War. Greece 1940-1944: From Occupation to Liberation", on Wednesday, October 18 2017. The Consulate General paid tribute to the struggle of the Greek peoples who fought with remarkable heroism and unity for a free Greece.
The exhibition consists of five parts: the War, the Famine, the Resistance and armed opposition, the Effects of War and the Liberation and contains rare and unpublished photographs and small documentaries from the archives of the Greek Secretariat General for Media and Communications and of the Greek National Broadcaster ERT.
The opening was attended by representatives from the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, university professors, businessmen, members of the Greek-American Community and journalists.
The catering was kindly offered by Mr K.Mastoras, owner of Optima Foods Inc
The exhibition will run until November 3rd, 09:00 a.m. - 14:30 p.m.
