Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Venizelos’ statement regarding the U.S.-Russian agreement on Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos made the following statement regarding the agreement reached in Geneva by the Foreign Minister of Russia and the U.S. Secretary of State:

“The framework of the agreement reached in Geneva on the chemical weapons in Syria is a very positive development that can contribute to the efforts to achieve a comprehensive political agreement in Syria and, generally, enable the UN Security Council to play its chartered role with the aim of peace in all the regions of the world.”
