Foreign Minister Avramopoulos talks by phone with U.S. Secretary of State J. Kerry
Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos talked to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry by phone today.
During their talks, which took place in a warm climate, the two ministers discussed Greek-U.S. bilateral relations and reaffirmed the two countries’ mutual will to strengthen and expand their cooperation.
Mr. Avramopoulos and Mr. Kerry also discussed the prospects for the UN negotiation process on the Cyprus issue, and Mr. Avramopoulos briefed his American counterpart on the results of the recent Greek-Turkish High Level Cooperation Council.
They also discussed developments in the Middle East, with emphasis on Syria and neighboring countries, as well as the major challenges that exist for regional stability.
Finally, the two ministers agreed to meet soon, and the relevant arrangements will be made via diplomatic channels.
