The Cultural Section of the Embassy of Greece, located in Washington DC,
serves as the springboard to Greece’s cultural diplomacy in the United
States.
With a dynamic presence amid the vibrant cultural life of the US
capital, the Embassy of Greece presents a variety of programs to:
• promote Greek arts, letters and sciences
• raise public awareness
• enhance understanding and intercultural dialogue
• build bonds and strategic partnerships
• interact, inform and educate
Cultural activities
The Embassy’s cultural activities encompass a wide array of topics for the American and international public, intended to illuminate and inform those who are interested in Greek history and Greece’s contemporary accomplishments.
Venues
Our cultural activities are offered at the new Embassy building, located at 2217 Massachusetts Avenue, as well as in other select locations across the DC metropolitan area and nationwide.
Networks
The Embassy’s Cultural Section participates in major international academic and cultural networks by building on existing collaborations and seeking new partnerships.
European Cultural Projects
In addition to its Greece-focused program, the Cultural Section actively participates and contributes to the creation and development of major European joint projects with 27 Embassies from the EU member countries. These projects promote Europe in the US and enhance transatlantic relations and exchanges. We currently collaborate on the: EU Open House and European Month of Culture, Kids EURO Festival, European Film Showcase.
